Variation and Theme

Over sea-wet rocks, an octopus climbs up

to hunt. For a few seconds it dares our burning

blue world, and we can watch! Multi-armed

as islands, it undulates over barnacles

and slides back down to the wash.

For you we play a conceptual flute.
